Te Hora Marae

Our whole school stayed overnight at Te Hora Marae. We did some fun activities during the day including flax weaving. We had a shared dinner in the evening and then everyone had a turn at saying their Mihi. At night Tessa heard people snoring. Early in the morning Tessa heard other children start to whisper and suddenly everyone woke up and started yelling happily!

Term Three 2011

Barney's Janma helped us to create some beautiful

floral decorations using native plants from her garden. We used them to decorate the supper tables at our Marz Production.

Jewish New Year

Nikau and her family shared apple and honey with us to celebrate the Jewish New Year.

Ball skills

This term we have been doing big ball skills with Helen. Lily, Nina, Eva, Barney, Emilie and Sam are playing a game with the rugby ball.

How eggs change

We looked at eggs and how their consistency can change. The egg is protected inside a hard shell.

How eggs change

When the egg came out of the shell it was wobbly and slimy and see through. When we tried to pick it up it felt slippery and gooey.

How eggs change

When we put the egg in a hot pan it started to change. The clear part went white and firm and the yolk went firm too.
